My Grandmother

This is the portrait of my granny I made five years ago. She was very healthy and active then and was really enthusiastic about the portrait.
I recently went to see her again. But now she is ill and weak. She has trouble hearing and for the first time I felt that she is getting old. She has lost the shine in her eyes and her features have deteriorated. This is her recent photo.

Came here from Sarah’s blog. Your portrait is so eloquent. The recent photo reminds me of my own mother who is bedridden. she has lost her hearing for the past several years. It is sad to see them like this when we have seen them in better times.

I have written a post on being a grandmom at

    Do read 🙂
